As well as fill in minor necessities such as being the getaway driver in a scene, or the one who provides the other heroes with needed information. All these minor acts of bravery were motivated by his need to save his love and spread hope to all the people who are the playthings of the Killers gang. All great heroes need some sort of motivation or goal behind them else they will never achieve anything and their motivation must be stronger than the danger they face in order for them to succeed.
